Paul Craven is an expert in behavioural science, decision making, and sales psychology. As a founder member of the Cialdini® Institute, Paul is a specialist in the art and science of ethical persuasion, based on the 7 Principles espoused by Dr Cialdini in his best selling book ‘Influence’ (“the best business book of all time” - Warren Buffett). Ethical persuasion is the ultimate soft business skill and Paul offers insights into how the smallest changes can lead to outsized gains.
His public speaking (and training) topics include
- the Art and Science of Ethical Persuasion
- avoiding groupthink around the board table
- investment decision-making and how to mitigate our biases
Paul's joy in these areas is evident in his TEDx talk. Marrying technicality with creativity, Paul’s interactive talks and training are notoriously full of ‘FIRE’ - fun, interesting, relevant and engaging. Offering enlightening perception into the tricks of the mind, Paul is an unforgettable speaker and trainer.
Paul Craven is a London-based public speaker whose prime focus is behavioural science. Retired from Goldman Sachs Asset Management after almost three decades in the financial markets, Paul is now CEO of his own company Craven Partners Ltd; and a founder member of the Cialdini Institute, which focuses on the research and training of the seven principles of ethical persuasion and influence.
As a leading keynote speaker on behavioural science, Paul can discuss a range of topics of great relevance, from how to make better individual decisions to the dynamics of the boardroom to how to be more persuasive.
Paul’s career began with global asset management company Schroders as a portfolio manager and later as head of UK Institutional Sales, before he moved onto PIMCO Europe Ltd, as Head of UK Business Development. At Goldman Sachs Asset Management he was a managing director and head of European Institutional Business, before he retired and founded Paul Craven Partners Ltd.
He is an independent adviser to the investment committee of the £2bn Akzo Nobel (CPS) Pension Scheme.
Outside the financial sector, Paul is a member of the exclusive Magic Circle. A polymath and master of many trades, Paul is sure to include a special psychological experiment at your event, whether training in your office, during a keynote talk or at an after-dinner function.
