Cookie policy
CIALDINI® INSTITUTE LLC
This Cookie Policy explains how Cialdini Institute Worldwide LLC (“Cialdini”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit cialdini.com. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit it. Cookies let a site remember your actions and preferences over time, and let us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Similar technologies (such as pixels, tags and local storage) perform comparable functions, and this policy covers those too.
The categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary
Required for the site to function: page routing, form submission, security and load balancing. These cannot be switched off in our systems, and they do not store personally identifiable information.
Analytics and performance
We use Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager and PostHog to understand which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, and where visits break down. PostHog may also record sessions (with everything typed into forms masked) so we can see where pages are hard to use, and records page speed and errors so we can fix them. We do not send your name or email address to PostHog. This data is used to improve the content and structure of the site.
Marketing and advertising
We use the Meta (Facebook) pixel to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and to show relevant content to people who have already shown interest in the Institute’s programs. These cookies may be set by the advertising platform rather than by us. When you register for a live session, our server also tells Meta about the registration, with your email, first name and phone number (if you gave one) sent only in hashed (scrambled) form, so Meta can tell which ad brought you. If you decline in Cookie Settings, or your browser sends Global Privacy Control, this is not sent.
Functional
Set when you interact with forms, scheduling widgets or the member portal, so that your progress and preferences are retained between visits.
Third parties that may set cookies
Some cookies are placed by services we rely on rather than by the Institute directly. These currently include Google (Analytics and Tag Manager), PostHog, Meta Platforms, and our CRM and scheduling provider, which powers our forms, booking pages and member portal. Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy terms.
How to control cookies
Analytics and marketing cookies are on when you arrive. You can turn them off at any time with the “Cookie Settings” link at the bottom of every page: choose Decline and the analytics and advertising tags stop on that device, and your choice is remembered. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as Decline. Be aware that blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as the tools we use change. When we do, we will revise the date shown on this page. Please check back periodically.
