Mark Isabella

Mark Isabella is owner of Isabella & Associates, a private company that offers training, coaching, consulting, and facilitation services to individuals, teams, and organizations. Mark has also worked as a public servant for 39 years, currently serving as Manager of Innovation and Change with the WV Division of Personnel. In this capacity, he manages DOP’s change consulting services, provides executive and managerial coaching, and conducts workshops for leaders

 

Mark has helped clients facilitate change, enhance relationships, and improve performance for over 30 years. His career has exposed him to a wide variety of settings and roles. He has served as a trainer, coach, mentor, and advisor to executives, managers, and specialists. He has done so in work sectors and occupational groups that include health care, manufacturing, law enforcement, technology, education, finance, engineering, and government agencies at all levels. His private clients have included Marshall Health, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, the City of Huntington, West Virginia University, WVU Medicine, the West Virginia Bankers Association, Service Wire Company, Kanawha County Schools, Charleston Area Alliance, Kraton Polymers, and the U.S. Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement. 

 

His coaching and training topics include leadership, communication, conflict management, change leadership, persuasion, coaching, teamwork, influence, and leading up.

 

Mark earned his Master of Arts degree in Communication Studies from Marshall University. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication/Management and an Associate of Arts degree in Radio/Television from Fairmont State College.

 

His background includes experience as a speechwriter and public information officer. He also served as an adjunct faculty member for Wheeling Jesuit University.

Accomplishments

Along with his facilitation of active training programs, Mark has created resources to help training facilitators boost the engagement of their participants. He contributed to the 2011 Pfeiffer Annual and 101 More Ways to Make Training Active, as well as to The ATD Trainer’s Toolkit, a mobile app produced by the Association for Talent Development. Mark’s collaboration with training legend Thiagi produced Let’s Deal with Conflict, as well as a number of other creative tools that help trainers design engaging and interactive learning.
